Personal Background:

In his free time, Matthew is actively involved in his local community and enjoys pursuing his personal interests. On higher energy days, Matthew can be found running ultramarathons and volunteering at the local police station. On other days, he prefers to read and have meaningful conversations with friends.

Community Involvement:

From 2019-2020, Matthew volunteered with Oxfordshire County Council’s Youth Justice Service, serving as an appropriate adult for youth and vulnerable adults within the UK criminal justice system. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, he also volunteered with the Oxford Hub Phone Links program, offering social support for isolated and vulnerable community members.

From 2018-2019, Matthew fought for the Oxford University Amateur Boxing Club (57kg), and from 2014-2018, Matthew wrestled for MIT (2017-2018 team captain, 4x NCWA National Qualifier, 3x NCWA Academic All-American).

Reading & Writing:

Finally, when he can find the chance, Matthew enjoys reading and writing. He has set a lifetime goal to complete all of The Harvard Classics, but often gets sidetracked by more contemporary non-fiction and theological works. Matthew is currently a production editor for Harvard’s Journal of Law and Technology and contributor to the “Living Law” blog of Harvard Law School’s Program of Biblical Law and Christian Legal Studies. At MIT, Matthew served as co-editor-in-chief of the MIT Et Spiritus, an Augustine Collective journal of Christian thought.
